The Indiana Pacers wanted Russell Westbrook two future first-round picks and talen Horton tucker from the lakers for myles turner, buddy hield and daniel Theis, now that trade can't go down because the Los Angeles Lakers ended up trading Talen Horton tucker to the Utah Jazz.
The jazz and pacers are the two most likely destinations for Russell Westbrook, if he does end up getting traded, so with that we're going to be talking about this Indiana Pacers trade and the pacers how they were asking for Talen Horton tucker to future first and Russell Westbrook and they were also asking the lakers to take on daniel Theis's money, i mean Myles turner is going to be a free agent in the 2023 offseason, and he's going to be looking to try to get over 20 million annually according to a report.
And also Danny Ainge is going to be trying to get everything, he can from the Los Angeles Lakers in a potential trade between the lakers knicks and jazz if that is something that goes down, so that's also something to keep in mind, it puts the lakers in a bit of a difficult spot because teams are asking a lot of Lakers, asking for both of those future first round picks to take on Russell Westbrook's money, it seems like, it doesn't seem like there's been a move that the lakers could have made involving only one future first-round pick.
I think la would have already made it and it looks like there could also be some trades, where the Los Angeles Lakers could only be getting one of myles turner and buddy hield, so that's something also to note with the Los Angeles Lakers, and they might want to have a pick swap involved or a protected pick, maybe involving some second run picks, rather than giving up two future unprotected first round picks now training camp is coming up it's less than four weeks away.
So if the lakers want to make a move by training camp, they might end up having to just say you know what we'll give up those two future picks but how about a trade involving the Indiana Pacers, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Lakers, where the lakers do not have to give up two future first round picks this is a trade scenario, i think I've talked about in the past, but the lakers had Tobias Harris and myles turner.
The Indiana Pacers had Russell Westbrook and the 76ers at t.j McConnell and buddy hield the sixers end up trading away an additional first-round pick and some second round picks, so that the Indiana Pacers get to first they also get some seconds and the Los Angeles Lakers end up trading away, Westbrook without giving up two future first now ideally i think that the move for the lakers would be they add myles turner, buddy hield, they trade away Russell Westbrook into future first and that's the trade.
I think it's a solid move for the lakers it adds additional depth to the roster, and they're in a legitimate position where they can compete for a championship, but will the lakers be willing to give up those two future first round picks that's the biggest question right now as training camp.
