The lakers are almost perfectly set up to land Kyrie Irving,so the lakers are Kyrie Irving's top destination if he leaves Brooklyn whether it's through a trade or in free agency next summer,
What's interesting about this upcoming free agency in 2023 is that the lakers they can create a ton of cap space, especially if they trade tht and this could be big for Lakers, it could allow them the opportunity to not only land Kyrie Irving, but they could also still have their non-taxpayer mid-level exception available to add some more talent onto the roster, which could set them up for championship contention in the 2023-24 season, but just looking at this upcoming season, the lakers could pull off a kyrie trade, it seems like the best avenue to do that is by getting a third team involved whether it's a team like Utah, the San Antonio Spurs, the Indiana Pacers, one of those teams that could be a way for the lakers to pull off this Kyrie trade,
But if they wait on kyrie he becomes a free agent in the 2023 offseason, and then they still could have a good chance to land him through free agency because they're going to have the ability to create a lot of caps space in that off season, even if the lakers decide to trade Russell Westbrook, I think that in a lot of scenarios they bring back guys that are on movable contracts that they could go ahead, trade in the 2023 off season if Kyrie Irving is interested in joining the team, and they want to clear up that cap space you look at guys like buddy hield, he'll be on an expiring contract in the 2020-324 season,
Is one of the best shooters in the league, so if the lakers traded for him wanted to trade him away and clear cab space, I feel like there's an avenue to do that, so this really creates a good opportunity for the lakers to land Kyrie Irving whether it be through trade or in 2023 free agency, because it seems like right now with the kyrie trade situation, if the lakers want to get kyrie after Kevin Durant is traded,
If that does go down then they'll have a good chance to do that, because it seems like they're the only team that's really interested in trying to land Kyrie Irving, so this puts the lakers in a really good spot but you have to ask going into the 2023-24 season, how good is LeBron James going to be, because he will be going into year 21 at that point,
So the lakers definitely do have to keep that in mind, but if anthony davis has a bounce back season, lebron keeps playing at a high level, then you go into that 2023 off season, with a chance to land kyrie the lakers, could really be looking scary going into that 2023-24 season.
