After LeBron James signed his extension with the Los Angeles Lakers it seems like, they've gone into a mode, where they're trying to make moves, that can help them compete right now, we saw that with the Talen Horton tucker trade they traded a much younger player in thc, and also they traded Stanley Johnson for an older veteran in patrick Beverley, who can help them compete right now and with Danny Ainge coveting the lakers 2027 and 2029 first round picks.
The lakers make a move happen with the knicks and jazz making it a three-team trade, where they bring back some talent that can help out their team right now, because ideally the lakers have another move that they can make to help improve their roster for this upcoming season.
But if not it looks like Darvin Ham is determined to carve out a role for Russell Westbrook, a real role for Russell Westbrook, so we're going to be looking at three trade scenarios involving the lakers jazz and knicks, so the lakers add Mike Conley Bojan bogdanovic jarred Vanderbilt and cam reddish, while trading away Russell Westbrook, wenyen Gabriel, Kendrick Nunn and also those two future first round picks.
I feel like this move adds some youth you get jarred Vanderbilt and cam reddish two younger wings you get a older veteran wing in Bojan Bogdanovic, who i think still can have a great year in lakers, and then Mike Conley a floor-spacing point guard, who can also be a floor general get some assists and set up his teammates in this next trade scenario.
The Los Angeles Lakers add Bojan Bogdanovic, Evan Fournier and Jordan Clarkson, and they trade away Russell Westbrook and Wayne and Gabriel along with those two future first round picks, now i don't like this trade as much, but when you look at Evan Fournier's deal in the 2023-24 season, he's essentially an expiring contract.
Because for the 2024-25 season, he has a team option on his deal so you have to keep that in mind, and he can bring some floor spacing all three of these guys, who the lakers would trade for in this scenario could space the floor and help the lakers with their three-point shooting, but it's not my favorite if I'm the lakers and I'm trading away to future first now in this next trade scenario, the lakers had Bojan bogdanovic, Evan Fournier and cam reddish, and they also end up trading away Russell Westbrook winning Gabriel and those two future first you get a younger wing and cam reddish who has high upside.
You get a veteran wing in bogdanovic who can help you right now and you get fournier who can bring that three-point shooting now ideally, the Los Angeles Lakers could add in three to four solid role players, while trading away these two future first round picks they need to add guys who can defend who can shoot those are the two things, that the lakers need the most in my opinion to bring that additional depth to their roster as they look to compete for a championship.
