So LeBron James has agreed to a two-year extension with the Los Angeles Lakers, and it has a player option for the 2024-25 season, but Lebron has added more time to his tenure with the lakers through this extension with Lebron committing more time to this lakers team, you have to wonder if they're going to make a move to try to improve this roster through A Russell Westbrook trade.

Kyrie Irving Trade UPDATE, After LeBron James Extension, Los Angeles Lakers News and Rumours

I just wonder if Lebron would be willing to commit to the lakers, if they weren't going to try to do everything they can to put a roster around him that can compete, so that's why I think that the lakers will probably end up making some type of move prior to the start of this upcoming season, to improve this roster because prior to LeBron James's extension it was reported, that he's focused on trying to compete for championships,  the lakers roster last season wasn't able to do that, and going into this season,

I don't think their roster has improved enough so far to elevate them to championship contender status, about a week ago it was reported, that the Los Angeles Lakers were willing to include two first-round picks in a Kyrie Irving trade, and based on some reports it seems like the lakers were reluctant to do that up until that point,  then the lakers get a commitment from LeBron James today, so with that you have to wonder, if the lakers willingness to go all in, and try to do everything they can to compete, is a reason why LeBron James has committed to this lakers team, and him and Anthony Davis are on the same contract timeline as well.

So that is something to note but if the lakers can pull off a trade for Kyrie Irving, it would definitely be a great move for the team, but even looking outside of a kyrie trade, maybe a trade for myles turner and buddy hield could be a way to improve the roster as well, or you look at the Utah Jazz, if you can add some shooting through a trade with Utah guys like Jordan Clarkson, Malik Beasley, Bojan bogdanovic, Mike Conley, they're all on the roster and Utah could be moving towards a rebuild, those guys could help the lakers in this upcoming season, there are quite a few options out there for the lakers.

I think that if they were willing to include multiple future first-round picks, they could definitely make a move prior to the start of this upcoming season, that would help them compete for a championship in the 2022-23 season, because as the roster stands I think that the lakers could definitely compete for a playoff spot but I'm not sure that they'd be championship favorites, I mean you always have a chance when you have Lebron and anthony davis on the roster.
